A couple of weeks ago I went to an animal park called Paira Daiza. It used to be a bird park called Paradisio but then they changed their name and now they have all kinds of animals. It is the only zoo in Belgium where you can see pandas. That alone makes it pretty special. The pandas where well hidden through. I think I walked past them like two times before I found them. They also had adorable little squirrel monkeys. In dutch their name is “doodshoofdaapjes” which sounds a lot more scarier. They are super cute thought and were not afraid of people at all. Here are some of the pictures.
New paints came in a couple days ago, but I haven’t had the time to test them out.
This pallet has double the colors I had before. So much more possibility’s.
The paper on the right are the swatches.
I don’t think I coloured them in completely right but it’ll do
Schmincke watercolors, Starry Colors (Kuretake) and white gel pen on Canson mixed media paper.
Same character that I drew before, but looks much better. I can still spot some small mistakes that I could’ve done differently, but I like the overall look of it. I don’t have that many colors on my Schmincke pallet. These ones are more meant to paint landscapes. I might buy the 24 half pan set.
I finally saw the movie on an air plane going to Japan. I was a little bit disappointing, maybe because I couldn’t understand half of what was being said due to the motors on the aircraft. I had to rely on subtitles. But then I saw a second time and I didn’t really like it all that much. All the thing I liked from Harry Potter were missing in this movie. I did like the character design of Newt.
A couple of weeks ago I bought my first reflex camera (canon 1300d). It is such an amazing camera. I’ve been testing it our by photographing my cute little chihuahua. His name is Nori and he’s around five months now. As you can see he’s super photo genetic. There are some more pictures on my flickr account.
Just a little self portrait. I kind of like it.
It was a certainly an experience drawing myself and trying to stay as accurate as possible without changing little things.
The reference picture was also from an angle I’m not used to drawing.
It was fun.
